Shower for Ava

Heather’s bridal shower was one weekend, her Bachelorette Party the next, and then it was time to Shower Janelle with love and gift for her new little bundle of joy, Ava!

We had Janelle’s shower on a Monday during the time of her normal weekly play date at 11am.  I loved hosting a shower where breakfast food is served.  It was so easy to prepare the food for a brunch and everything was delicious and kid friendly!

Our beverage table was super cute and included my favorite thing…the striped straws!  We had OJ, Frappuccino, Water, Milk, and Chocolate Milk.

I love all the natural light at Jamie’s house but my camera was not such a big fan.  I tried to get a good picture of the buffet table, but the sunshine was super bright!

Tissue balls were everywhere!  I love that these decorations make such a big statement and are so simple to make!

Most of our recipes that we used for this shower were pinterest finds.  We had mini pancakes, quiche, bacon wrapped smokies, bacon and cheese grits casserole, pigs in the blanket, and a donut hole tree.

We wrote a saying from “Goodnight Moon” onto the homemade chalk board.  I tried to write as pretty as I could, but the chalk was really dull/flat so it looks like a five year old wrote it.

I am sad that this is the only picture that I have of the adorable onesies that I made.  I cut out the decals and ironed them to iron on adhesive.  Then I ironed them onto the onesies.  Not sure how they will hold up in the wash, but they were great to hang over the fireplace!

My favorite dish that I made were the blueberry crumble bars.  So good and soooo easy.  We also had a pound cake with strawberries.

The yogurt parfaits were yummy.

After playing a couple of games it was time to open presents.  Gabby was there to help her mama with her new little sister’s gifts.

Janelle is the wife of one of Doug’s fellow residents.  They are 3rd year residents and Janelle was hoping to deliver little Ava here at Madigan before Jake began his 4 month rotation over in Spokane.  Luckily little Ava thought that was a great idea and was born on September 24th.
