Hang On!

A couple of months ago we were getting in the corvette after seeing a movie and a guy came up and asked us if we were from around here. Doug and I looked at each other because we weren't sure what the guy wanted. The guy kept talking and invited us to come to a corvette club meeting the following Wednesday. Doug was pumped about joining the club. We attended the meeting and met some really nice people. They go on trips, short and long, all across Washington. In order to be an official member you have to attend two tours and two meetings. They have meetings once a month and maybe one or two qualifying tours a month. So far we have gone to two meetings and one tour...Almost official members!

The tour that we attended a few weeks ago was driving to Mount St. Helens. We had an awesome time. The roads were nice and curvy...Doug's favorite kind. Doug likes to hug the corners and while I like to hold on for dear life. He paid attention to the road and I was staring off the cliff that we could potentially fall off! We drove in a caravan with about 18 other corvettes. It was a really neat experience. If anyone comes and visits us in the summer time I think a trip to Mount St. Helens will be on the agenda of things to do!

Here is a video of some of the drive. It is kinda long...but you get the picture!

Making our way to the lookout point.
We made it!!! Doug was in heaven with all the other corvettes!
This is the best picture that I got of the mountain. I was too busy trying to hold on. Doug was in charge of the camera when we got to the top and I thought that he had taken pictures....but he didn't. One whole side of the mountain is gone, but it is actually trying to build itself back up!
The next tour that we are attending in the next couple of weeks is to the Columbia River. The Columbia River divides Washington and Oregon. On Saturday we are going to drive on the Oregon side and then on Sunday we will drive back on the Washington side. We have never been to Oregon and are both really excited for the trip!
